I think statistics can be very misleading. If you look at Bradman and pay attention to the bodyline series, how would he have coped with the 4 quicks that the West Indies had in the 70's and 80's. I doubt he'd have held his place in the team! Other things you need bear in mind is the fielding now compared with Bradman's day. No one, and I mean no one ran a ball down and as for diving for a catch, you've got to be joking. Something else worth considering, Bradman was a paid cricketer, he didn't have to work. Harold Larwood (England's bodyline bowler) worked in the mines in between playing cricket and the rest of the Aussie team were basically amatuer cricketers, having to work for a living. In this day and age, anyone averaging 50 or better is probable comparable to or better than Bradman. If you picked a team of the 20th Century and played it under today's conditions, for mine, Bradman wouldn't get a shield game! Of your list, give me Ponting, Lara, Tendulkar, Gavaskar, throw in both Richards (Barry and Viv), the big cat Clive Lloyd, David Gower, the Waughs, the Chappells, Border, gee, I could go on. I'm an Aussie and I'm anti Bradman. The so called great man wasn't so great, there are a couple of books around that were written by some of his team mates, they had little trouble bagging him. In fact, one was being kind when they referred to him as "an upper class brown nosing pommy living when it suited him in Australia".
More facts, Bradman the hog, wouldn't run 1 or 3 unless it was the last ball of the over. Bradman the boss, openers that made him face bowlers in under the first hour had half their match pay docked. Bradman the manipulator, a young batsman that outscored him had his papers signed at the end of the match, never to play for Australia again. Open your eyes and do some research, you'll find he was anything other than GREAT!

impossible to earnings. maximum folk answering the question might have in no way considered a Don Bradman innings. yet listed under are some factors to think approximately - throughout Bradmans era there have been no longer as many cameras, recording each and every shot he performed for blowers and coaches to envision and aim particular weaknesses. Tendulkar dealt with that, working in direction of and dealing in direction of till that weak point grew to grow to be a power. we could no longer additionally forget approximately the rigidity that Tendulkar performed below, for years India replaced into often happening as a one guy (or one God ) team. Stats smart Bradman comes out greater suitable yet relatively they are possibly as good as one yet another.

Lot of us will say Tenkulkar but actually by the time they will end thier carrers it will be Pointing standing next to Sir Bradman, secondly if only Hussey had got his chance to play few years earlier he might have been there too.

Gotta say Ponting is proving himself very well at the moment. To be captain and leading his side so well in the batting department is awesome. Brian Lara is also one of those players you'd just love to watch.
Have to say though Bradman is just so iconic he would be very hard to replace. Ponting is getting closer.

I don't think Bradman will ever have an equal as a batsman. As an allround cricketer, fielder, batsman, captain and bowler, I think he was in Sobers' shadow, but as a batsman he was unsurpassed.
