Mrs Corell Hyland is 78yrs old, completely blind, who is a resident in a nursing home close to where I live. I've been visiting her for a while now, as a volunteer. On her 78th birthday, I just bought her a cake and we just sang for her. Now it's christmas and I've been thinking what can I give her, any suggestion ?

Audio tapes either of the Bible, which would be my first choice, or failing that read to her. I also have good word that there is an excellent mystery novel, very small, called The Ghost of the Cavalier you could read to her and it's very short. A Christmas Carol is also good to read, or listen to.

Since she can see, getting her something where she can smell, feel or taste is a great idea.

You idea to buy her a cake is good, if you can bake it yourself, it will be better.
