Erm, I turned 19 recently, and I still feel like a kid in a bit of a way, but I feel more mature because I have bills, go to college, am in a serious relationship, and whatnot. Anyways, do you consider being 19 still being an adolescent or young adult? Some people say they still consider themselves adolescents or teenagers until 21, not that this is very important..I'm just curious as to what you all think.

You are a young adult. Although, I have to say that I'm 32, married, the mother of two with another on the way and I often don't feel like I can possibly be old enough for all this responsibility. Sometimes I'm in awe that I'm a mom. I am a very responsible person but most of the time I feel like I'm not a day over 18. Not even turning 21 made me feel more "adult".

Everyone matures at different rates. I'll be 20 soon and i can tell that just in the past year and a half I've matured a lot. I have friends that i graduated with that are married now and they act more immaturely than I do. Then I have friends that are younger than I am that act like they're 30 years old. Then I know 24 year old guys that I believe will never grow up. So, I wouldn't worry about it.. We have the rest of our lives to mature even more and deal with mature situations. You are in college, have fun and if you are in a playful, immature mood, be immature and play around. Don't worry what everyone else is doing : )

Of course everyone is still only a kid at heart and that transition can be rough. You've become a young adult; I mean you have the ability to sit around in with the big boys & girls if you're a jailbird. But being adult is kinda tight. You suddenly appear older to other people also.
Responsibility can be tight.

I consider high school grad's adults or fresh meat...
when I was 19 I was working, going to college and paying my own bills...I considered that my first step to adulthood. I miss being a teen though...sometimes I think I had a lot more freedom as a teenager then I do as a wife and a mother...

I think it depends more on the person. How one acts takes large steps into the direction of what some may think of a person. I'm 30 and some of my peers are still adolescent in their actions, and though they are late 20 somethings to early 30 somethings, if you didn't know their ages you would think that they where 17.

I'm 23 years old and your 19. You are an adult except you can't buy alcohol beverages. You pay bills, are in college, you can go to clubs, buy cigarettes if you're a smoker. So yes you are a adult and I guess you could say a young adult.

A fifty 8 year previous man or woman isn't a elderly man or woman. i believe that perchance 40 year previous through sixty 5 years previous will be seen center age. something over which will be elderly. i actual believe that you're as previous as you experience. in case you experience 30 at sixty 3: you're very blessed! i'm fifty 3 and that i believe each and every now and then sixty 3. yet countless the time i believe 30. yet hear i'm not a elderly man or woman. i'm not what I once became, yet i'm not elderly. i'm basically more desirable!

Myself I'm still a kid at heart at 40 but it depends on the persons. Most people don't mature until they have faced the hard facts of life like bills, school or starting a family.

Wait till you have your first child and you'll see how fast you mature.

I think you're a young adult. God knows when I was 19, I had many responsibilities too. But it was my choice. Some people say that you will miss your childhood, but I enjoy my freedom so much more. You're not a kid anymore if you have those reponsibilities
