For legality and safety sake. It is actually a road hazard law that Ambulance must be written in reverse so that drivers ahead of the abulance can quickly read the word in their rearview mirror in the car. Mirrors, reverse objects and no more true is that then of words and signs. Otherwise you will have men and women slowing their cars down so they can focus on what the word says as it will appear backwards in a mirror if it is written correctly on the ambulance. This driver's slowing down and concentrating on the backwards word will cause more accidents than the ambulance can handle. SO a law was created to protect drivers of all vehicles directly or indirectly associated with that one driver that can not read backwards. (I can read backwards and upside and upside/backwards....yes I am a geek like that)

U're the one who's written wrongly. It's not abulance, but AMBULANCE. Well actually, it's written as a mirror image so U can see it better on Ur rearview mirror.

Hi gs,
the name on ambulance is not written wrongly. Its written reverse so that people in the vehicles ahead of it can read it in right order (as it gets reflected in the mirror) and make way for the ambulance in case of emergencies....
