My friend tell me that Polyandry have some benefits: birth control - one birth a year although supported by more than one man, financial stability - more than one man income better than one man only, lightening men resposibility - ones works, ones at home, ones do anothers.

Genetically and historically looking, the societies, especially military and hunting societies, were a very risky place for men, who got killed in wars, wounded by animals etc.
Therefore there was more women than men. Because women had to be provided for (ie have a man who will hunt food for them and protect them), several women began to look for the protection of one man, because there weren't enough men that each woman could have one.
In modern days, polygamy is still a status symbol in some countries: the wealthier a man is, the more food and cattle he can afford and more wives and children he can provide for.

Because men are bulls, they can cater for and service more females. But women get bogged down by the wear and tear of life; such as pregnancy, infections and the need to be in an intimate relationship.
