LOL! It can certainly seem like it, can't it?
However, based on my experience being a manager, the job isn't as easy as it seems, at least if you have poor people skills like me. So maybe your manager(s) aren't intentionally trying to drive you nuts - maybe they're just fumbling around trying to learn how to be managers but not doing a very good job of it.

I'm a manager and certainly don't. The main reason is because I don't have time for it. However, I've had bosses who have pushed me close to the edge, but it's not out of fetish, they just didn't have the proper comunication skills to instruct me correctly.

I wouldn't call it a fetish, but, more like they are power hungry and feed off of treating their employee's like crap. Especially those they are jealous of.
