Looks like a pretty good machine for what you need. Also can't beat the $599 price tag. You may even be able to play some games as well.

Sounds good to me, the processor and the VGA aren't the hottest but for the applications mentioned it'll serve you fine.
The OS doesn't really help with schoolwork though.
Consider a MacBook or a Dell too, check all options before you buy this.

Yes, it will handle all of those tasks well. Good deal for the price. It's no good for 3D gaming, but otherwise it's fine.

seems like a good buy amds though are usaly for speed where as pentiums can be for speed but are mainly used for wideo editing so for ur need it is a good choice

If that's all you're planning to use this laptop for then it's fine. If you want to use it for anything else like play games,...etc... this is not a good laptop.
