It would depend on where you choose to go as it is a vast and varied world.

Abu Dhabi and Bahrain are very civilised in a western way. Iran, Iraq and Saudi are much more traditional.

It would also depend on the lifestyle that you live. You live very welll in these places but of course in the more fundamentalist countries, there are strict Muslim laws to be abided by.

However, in general the people in these countries are inteligent, articulate and very willing to learn.

I would recommend that you learn some of the language such as Farsi for Iran, Arabic is essential in most countries but totally unacceptible in Iran.

Hope this helps and I wish you sucess

I worked in Saudi Arabia (Jeddah) for 18 months some years ago and had a ball. Yes there are restrictions because you are a woman but you can do most normal things provided you respect the local culture. Many of the Saudi people were warm and friendly, and the expat community was a blast. Some difference now with the state of the world but then so's everywhere. I'd try it out.

at the same time as all the terrorists and insurgents are useless. enable me allow you to recognize something, loose replace is utter CRAP. I really ask for forgiveness for your lack of an hour and a 1/2 of your existence. Google popular mechanics 9/11, or screw loose replace, and comprehend that Dylan Avery has been smoking crack. And what information is there al-Qaeda is in the back of 9/11? Hmmmm, hard one. perchance its each and every intelligence corporation we've declaring thats genuine. or perchance all the as-Sahaab video clips obtainable with Osama on there declaring he will wreck the west. or perchance that's the video clips we've captured through entering Afghanistan displaying Osama planning the attacks. or perchance its the confessions of the likes of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Moussaui. and likewise, if a soldier fires on an "innocuous civilians domicile" there are gunshots or rpg's coming from there, meaning reported civilian is sheltering terrorists, certainly, authentic innocuous. and likewise, looks like you want to get decrease back to varsity and study some historic past, the middle east has continuously been a warzone. Iran v Iraq conflict, 8 years, 1000's of thousands killed Soviet v Afghanistan Pakistan v India inner rebellions in a lot of countries, and no respect for human rights: Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, etc. females were treated worse than canines right here, and hmmm, what international places at the instantaneous are giving females rights? Iraq and Afghanistan? might want to that be end results of the U.S.? And all of that's modern-day, wars bypass previously right here. Mohammed and his 4 following caliphs fought continually increasing Islam Abbassid Caliphate wars Seljuk Turk wars Il Khan horde wars Safavid v Ottoman Mughals, and alex the large invading WW1 Oh and Africa as well, Mehmet Ali fought his associates, mahdi military in Sudan, and likewise interpretations of Islam like wahabbism and salafism are like an epidemic.

The middle east is very divers, as may not be reflected in the TV news. some countries are totally western (Israel) some are third world and very poor (Yemen), some are peaceful (well at least in mid east terms) and some have conflicts within or with neighbors. almost all countries have bad human rights problems.
It really depends on where and when in the middle east you want to teach.

It depends on which part of the middle east you go to-
the UAE especially Dubai has a high standard of living (no tax) and I know of two teachers who have gone there to teach and enjoyed it. Somewhere like Lebanon,Iraq,Iran,Palestine on the other hand you could n't get me there for love nor money. Dubai would be your best bet but check first ...some foreign nationals need sponsorship before being allowed there to work.

Ever been to Mexico?Think of Tijuana. Now change the people from Mexican to Middle Eastern, change the religion from Catholic to Muslim, change the climate from usually warm to very hot, add a lot of sand, change the food type, add a lot older history, change the language of course, and add some "possible" violence and you have an image in your head.
