Very well could be! If the contractions don't hurt and you just feel tightening, They are probably just Braxton-Hicks. But since you feel pain, I would guess it's real labor. If the contractions are spread out far enough for you to get some sleep, DEFINITELY GET SOME SLEEP! I ignored this advice with my 1st, because I was so excited, and I ended up being exhausted and wishing I would have slept when I could! Congratulations (almost)!

Labor contractions are when the entire abdomen hardens. There is a slight feeling of pressure in the abdomen aswell. Intensity increases when you begin to dilate more (thats how it was for me)
Sounds like you have brax (false labor) When the lower and upper areas both harden, thats labor.

Probably just Braxton Hicks...I've been having them a lot (sometimes 5 mins apart for hours each day) but they don't hurt, just tighten...so, the doctor said they're just braxton hicks (false labor.)
My doctor said you will know when you go into labor...it feels like really bad diarrhea or menstrual cramps, and they get closer together and stronger.
Good luck and congrats! :)

definatley could be!! Keep track of how long, and if it gets worse go to the hospital. THe worst they could say is false labor, but it'd be better then having the baby trying to get there!! GOOD LUCK !!! I hope everything goes great for you and your new baby.

Could be. You should call your Dr. and tell him what you are feeling, and see what he or she says. Your Dr.'s advice is always best.
