I have a 4.125 wieghted UC GPA and a 3.88 unweighted GPA. My SAT's are 1910. I have a lot of e.c.' that I have participated in for 4 years. I also have a lot of work experience. What are my chances for UCLA and UC Berkley?

For UCLA your chances are very good. UCLA isn't a terribly hard school to get into, and I would be shocked if you didn't get in. UC Berkeley is harder to get into. There I might try to raise that SAT a bit if you can (if you can't, don't worry too much, since the UC's seem to hate the SATs anyways). Also, since you're at the point that you're worrying about college, I'd try to get as many extra A's as you can before applying (again, it depends when you're applying, so if you can't just run with it) since Berkeley is fairly tough to get into (I was one of only two people in my graduating class to be admitted there; everyone else was turned away). But UCLA you should be fine. I'd consider applying to other schools also though, particularly weaker UC's so that you at least get in SOMEWHERE. You can always transfer later if you aren't happy where you are, but it's very easy to find reasons not to reapply if you don't get in anywhere. Good luck!!

your test scores and GPA are very impressive, yet what is your major? if you're looking to go into a science or mathematics field, your chances at UC Berkley are good. Keep in mind students from all over the country and abroad will be applying to these same schools, and many of them will have comparable GPAs and SAT scores. If you can get characters references, especially from professionals from the industry/field you want to get into, that would be an invaluable advantage.

It sounds like you are a great prospective student for many places. I can't speak specifically for UCLA or Berkeley, though, because they are among the hardest places in the country to get into. Their admissions offices get a lot of terrific applications, and your chances depend upon what you bring to them that others don't - are you from an unusual place, are you interested in an unusual major, was your e.c. in something different than that which most students do, and did you show leadership in it, etc.
