Well, if it is as painful as you are describing, it does NOT sound normal. A baby kicking or stretching shouldn't be painful. Uncomfortable maybe, but not like that. I know what the first thing popping into their mind is - a placental abruption, which is very dangerous to you and the baby. So that is all they check out, and are forgetting there might be another cause. It may not be anything serious, but you deserve to have your caregivers LISTEN to what you are telling them and pay a bit more attention. It's entirely possible this has nothing to do with the pregnancy and they are overlooking that. It could also be something as minor (still painful) as cramping where the round ligament attaches to the upper area of the uterus (one on each side), or a spasm in one of your abdominal muscles. Do you have any residual soreness after this happens?
You are going to have to make your doctor look you in the eye and listen to what you are saying. And you need to be very clear when describing the pain and that this is completely outside of normal discomfort. The next time you get brushed off - well, don't let them brush you off. Get mad, make them hear you.

Since you have been to the hospitial and they have made sure everything is ok....please do not worry..here is an explanation of what is probably happening to you.
I remember I used to double over a lot in pain from my children. I am short statured so I felt every kick every thump and bump and sometimes it killed me. Your stomach muscles are probably reacting to the kick, stretch, punch, jerk, or whatever baby is doing in there...You are at 32 weeks so baby is pretty big right now with not much room left so you are feeling more...your stomach muscles do not know that you are pregnant..and they react to punches, kicks, prods, stretches, and things...Your stomach muscles are probably contracting very hard as soon as the kick or whatever happened...and muscle contractions hurt!!..this is not the same thing as having contractions...this is just a normal muscle reaction to an action. But it hurts.
My boys would kick me downward and I thought I was going to just die several times..I would cry it hurt so hard..I felt like I was being kicked in the cervix...ouch!!
If you still are not comfortable with our answers here...the next time it happens you can go to the ER again...and again and again...They can always make sure baby is ok and that you are ok...and if everything is ok have them explain to you what is happening.
Good luck and try not to worry too much

I think your baby is just fine. However, I would have the doctor check for a hernia. Sometimes pregnancy can cause an umbilical hernia and it might be worth mentioning to your OB. When the baby stretches it could be putting strain on that area. I don't think you have that much to worry about. Take note if it happens when you have a bowel movement if it hurts then it may interfere with pushing, being pregnant before you now the effort it takes. I would mentioned it again until you are satisfied with the an answer. I would always trust your instincts! Hope this helps. Happy Birthing!!!

I've had the same thing happen to me...my doctor said that it's the baby stretching it's leg out...so to you it feels like a burning spot...it's just your muscle and skin stretching from the baby's leg or arm pushing out too much..
