Your phone would work, it would just charge you long distance calls if you move out of state. I found that out the hard way when my phone bill went up by $400, just get a new phone.

Hi,
Yes, you can very well use your mobile in any state. However, if you have a CDMA handset associated to any provider, you may have to contact them to get your number and Short Distance Coverage Area(SDCA) to the place you move to.
In other hands if you are using a GSM network, you can very well throw the sim card out and then use a sim card and start the call.
However if you are moving our to a different country, you may have to change the handset depending on the mobile range supported by the handset.
Thanks and Regards,
Vijay Mathews

Check with your provider if they have coverage in the area that you're moving to. If they do, then you can definitely keep the cell phone that you're using now.

you can still use your plan..its no big deal. just make sure your plan gives you free roaming. otherwise, you should be able to call anywhere in the US.

You might. But that's where they get you. YOu might have to cancel your contract and that's where they get their money.
