How can I make my rock band The Most become famous quickly and legally?

My band is called The Most, we are very popular in my city (in Florida), we write good songs, we are excellent performers. We want to go from local to regional to national, I'm up for any creative solutions on how to get more press, or exposure

well, get a myspace && play local shows
i kno of a few places you could play around the ocala/gainesville region && im friends with quite a few local bands
believe me, if ppl like you, your name will get around && more && more kids will show up at your shows

also, dont rly set high standards for yourself, just have fun with it, get on some shows with some good local bands && see where it gets ya

Get a good agent and *then* sign to a record company. Even a very small one. Then just work very hard - any gig that puts you "out" there is good - the further from your base the better. Good luck.

You could build yourself a bigger fan base by joining up to http://www.myspace.com/ and http://www.bebo.com/. Both are free to join and you will be able to put songs up for people to hear and comment on!

I suggest get a good manager. Record some songs and send it out to record labels and even other artists to try and get them interested. Play at whatever gigs you can get. Get your name out as best you can, perhaps hire a publicist?
