A website consists of one or more pages published on the Internet, which contain text, images, videos, flash files .... etc.

Now the URL ( Uniform Resource Locator ) is a common way to get to a website, and it also is a UNIQUE address for a file that is accessible on the Internet ( and the file should be contained in a website )

URLs usualy start with : http://
example:
http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2396.txt

Uniform Resource Locator (URL)

A website (or Web site) is a collection of web pages, typically common to a particular domain name or subdomain on the World Wide Web on the Internet.

The pages of a website will be accessed from a common root URL called the homepage, and usually reside on the same physical server. The URLs of the pages organize them into a hierarchy, although the hyperlinks between them control how the reader perceives the overall structure and how the traffic flows between the different parts of the sites.

A web site is what you can actually see and interact with. A URL(Uniform Resource Locator) is the name of any given site. For example my site is about artwork, and you can check it out (and even buy some, if you'd like).

The URL of my site is http://www.Chris-Hodge.com. If that was spam, please forgive me. But it's a pretty good site, if I do say so myself.

The Site is site and link is link - wHEN YOU SAY SITE, you mean something than can be seen, whe you say 'url' it is the expression by letters that links 'you and the site.' Uniform resource locator helps you to reach the site and then only you can visit or see the site contents.
