Well they don't want to look too desperate or too keen just in case it throws you off. And also to see if you were really interested or how persistent are you? You just gonna give up easily

They want to know you're really serious about them. Only guys who really try for them are worth it. Ones who give up easily probablly are only in it for the quick lay.
