Kerry Livgren from the band Kansas has put out two Christian albums so I wouldnt worry about listening to Kansas. I listen to metal music and for me its very ignorant for individuals to portray metal as being Satanic. Anyone that is a metal fan knows that most of the guys are truly dedicated musicians. Dave Lombardo, Steve Vai, Malmsteen, Billy Sheehan, these guys stand out because they have spent countless hours in their bedroom practicing. And if anyone gets on you about the content in the songs just read the lyrics of any of the current radio hip/hop or some of the old country and the content is talks about parties of life. And where else are you going to use double bass, sweep picking, and power chords.

First of all, over half of those band's arent metal. Second, NONE of those bands have satanic lyrics whatsoever.
People accused bands like black sabbath and ACDC of being satanic because of the stage show (like fake blood and similar), but some on, that's just a show!! Is every action movie in the cinema considered satanic because of gorey effects?
Secondly, some of those bands might mention "hell" in their lyrics, like ACDC. That's hell just in a very figurative sense, like "go to hell", or so.
Whoever says that THOSE bands have any connection with the devil, is a moron.
If you want a taste of a really satanic black metal stuff, have them listen to: Mayhem, Emperor, Marduk, Darkthrone, Dimmu Borgir...
and then compare to the music you listen to.

Most of the bands/musicians you listed are not heavy metal, and are not even in the same ballpark as heavy metal. Rock music isn't of the devil. That's not to say that every rock band ever makes good quality music. Avoid the following bands and you might turn out okay.
creed = crap
hinder = crap
godsmack = crap
red hot chili peppers = crap
10 years = crap
kiss = crap
shine down = crap

Like 6 of those are metal. Kansas? How the Hell is Kansas Heavy Metal? But Back to answering your Question. Some Heavy Metal Bands have lyrics that make refference to Satan, but If you like the music that shouldn't matter. I don't think you go to hell for liking Metal

Personally I don't like any of those bands except the chillis but then I'm not much of a rock/metal fan - in fact I'm not at all a fan.
Most people who point fingers in that way are attempting to divert their own attention away from their own shortcomings. If you spend all your time thinking about what everybody else is up to then you have no time to think about and realise what you are like yourself.
Good or evil is entirely to do with your own thoughts and beliefs - we all have some of both of us - the point is behave in a way that demonstrates what you are and nobody can know that better than you if you are honest with yourself.
It has nothing to do with what you listen to and these people should worry more about themselves than everyone else.

You shouldn't listen to them. If you like to listen to heavy metal, then listen to heavy metal and don't care what others think about it. They are artists just like the ones that paint. Every artist has their own way of showing who they are. Some may do abstract or some may do color by numbers...it's all the same just different ways. As for the music...heavy metal artists are not different from say...Jennifer Simpson. They just choose to sing the way that they do, but they are both artists. So you listen to what you want to and have fun. Merry Christmas!!

None of those are really heavy metal. Well, I guess you can consider Metallica "metal."
But most of those are classic rock or grunge. I listen to half of those bands, and am familiar to the rest, as well as pop like Jewel. (In case you felt hardcore, I've brought you back down to earth, you mortal.)
So anyways, you can just tell them that you don't listen to Satanic music. You listen to rock.
The only music of the devil is techno.
I'm just kidding.

What people said about that to you !!!!! Some people who do not like the heavy metal music or the people who being force by their own religion to avoid that kind of music. Then they judge that this heavy metal music is of the devil ??? Oh please think like this, "How can they judge the music like that".
I think they are stupid, very stupid, they judge something that they not even understand what they talking about. So very funny.
So you NO NEED to listen to them, just follow your heart, you like that music, then listen. ok. I love heavy metal like crazy, so i will be in the front row to fight people who say about that.

Don't listen to them. If you like the music listen to it. The lyrics are fiction. Like the script to a scary movie. Besides if they were "of the devil" what does it matter to you if you just like the musicianship.
