Youd know if it was a period!!! That may be the begining, or if your underwear was pink, it could be lint. Wear a pantiliner around, or some toilet paper to be sure, and if it is, congrats, welcome to being a woman.

It could be - and thats about all that could be said without bloodwork to confirm. The other things that you need to ask yourself: have you been having other abdominal symptoms?
The first question I would have is, are you sexually active?
That would lead to a different line of questions. Trying to make a diagnosis goes like this...."if this is the case, then we look at X If that is the case, then we look at Y, and if neither is the case we have to look at Z.

Its hard to tell just from "what does this mean?" and its the sort of thing that needs to be "questioned and answered" with someone who went to school for 8 years to know the questions to ask - if ya know what I mean.

Depending on what you were doing that day or previous days.
It could have been your first period.
If you had any sexual contact (inside your vagina) that could also cause some bleeding. You may have also broken or tore your hymen with out knowing it. In any case its nothing to be alarmed about. But I would start seeing a gynecologist so that you can ask all the questions you want to know regarding your body on what to expect or what is normal and what isn't.
If you don't want to go to you family Doctor...Go to a planned parenthood or family planning clinic.

It was not a period. You will sometimes have a discharge such as you described when you are getting ready to start you periods. Can you talk to your mother, an older sister, older friend about this. It helps to have someone to talk to, although I know it can be embarrassing when you are young to bring up these topics.

You will probably be starting your period soon- within the next few months. Keep a pad with you at all times, so you'll be prepared!! Good luck :)
