I took 2 pregnancy tests a full seven days before my period was due and both were positive. (Yes i was pregnant) The brands i used were "Answer" & "ClearBlue Easy". The answer one showed up a bold line right away whereas the clearblue one showed up a faint line.
Most people will tell you to wait til after you miss your period but i didn't and the results were accurate.
Test with first morning urine as it contains the highest levels of the pregnancy hormone hcg but you know i didn't i tested at night.
Dosen't matter what test you use, they are all the same only difference is the price:Surprisingly, cheap tests purchased at dollar stores or on the Internet are often more sensitive and reliable than expensive store brands. HPT's are like soda: very cheap to make, and marked up quite a bit for retail.
Do I have to test with my first morning urine (FMU)? Not necessarily. In general, FMU is the most concentrated urine of the day and thus more likely to have built up more hCG in it. If you are testing early (before 14 DPO), the HPT is more likely to detect the hCG in your FMU. After 14 DPO there should be enough hCG to be detected at any time of day. Some women have better luck with second morning urine (SMU.) A good rule of thumb: hold your pee for 3-4 hours (and drink as little as possible!) Then pee in a cup. If your urine looks nice and yellow, it's concentrated enough for testing (see FAQ 16 below for more info on peeing in cups vs. peeing on sticks.) If it looks diluted, dump it and try again later.
So, generally speaking, the earliest you can expect a positive HPT is 8 days past ovulation ("DPO") and the latest would be about 16 DPO. It is possible to get a positive test earlier or later, but not as common. In my experience, if you use a sensitive "early" test (anything that detects 25 mIU/mL of hCG or less) you can test around 12-14 DPO and feel reasonably secure with your results (the later you test, the more secure you can feel in its accuracy.)

You should actually be testing for ovulation from days 7-14, everyone is different, I can tell you that I missed several cycles due to the old school way of thinking (day 10)...In any case, it can be frustrating and expensive, but that is the most effective way.

Wait until the morning. The strongest HCG in the urine is the first morning urine. Go to bed and dream and take the test in the a.m! Good luck! If it is negative wait until the 29th to get the most accurate results. If you want to know sooner you can have a blood test drawn and you will know faster.

If you aren't late yet I wouldn't take the test. It can cause you a false negative and may cause you disappointment that is unneccessary if you are pregnant. Plus, all of that water you have drank may dilute it anyway.
Good luck!

It would be pointless, but who are we kidding? Is there any possible way that little test stick is actually going to make it until the morning? If it does, you have more self-control than I do!
Good luck.

I am a testaholic myself..haha I would wait till the morning though cause it might have been diluted and at least you know your first morning urine contains the highest HCG in your urine..Go to this website to give you more info on HPT

It would be best to test in the morning. The first time you urinate, because that is when the chemical that is dectected is the highest. So there for more accurate.

Just follow the instructions, but morning pee is always great for highest concentrations of chemicals of interest.
