Yes, there are a couple of things which you may want to do or visit:

1) Ever largest & longest Xmas Light-Up 2006 from Orchard Rd, Bugis area and up to City Hall, Marina Square areas.

2) Displaying great fireworks on New Year Eve's @The Esplanade, Marina Square & Fullerton areas.

3) Big New Year's Party held in VivoCity @HarbourFront (Largest shopping mall in Singapore)

4) Late Mid-night shopping in Wisma Atria (Orchard), Suntec City & Marina Square and Bugis Street stalls till 15th Jan 07.

Okay here are the places I thinking of: 1) Singapore Flyer - Located at Orchard Road. Probably the most biggest ferries wheel you'll ever see! 2) Esplanade - Located at Orchard Road. I haven't really been inside it but I heard that its a great place. 3) Sentosa Island - Very fun! and exciting place with surprises in store! 4) West Coast Park - A place with sand everywhere! But you can't swim there cause there are ships there 5) Jurong West Stadium - Pack up your things and go there to the second level to swim! The entry is only $0.80 of students like you two but it'll be somewhere around $1 during holidays. Only the West Coast Park is the free place I've named (except when you go hungry and you didn't bring any food along with you) Sorry about idea number 1,2 and 3. I forgot to read the sentences you written above. Anyways you'll love idea number 5. Trust me its worth paying the fares cause the place is damn fun! Remember in Singapore not all places are free. Most of them cost money.

Check out the Night Safari. My friends from Korea and Germany loved the place.

Orchard Road for shopping and such... Sentosa has beaches, Underwater World, Fort Siloso. Any hawker centre has food. Food is good.
