assign different ip on all department computers but one pc of all the department will have two lan cards which is to be assigned the same ip of server
this way department interconnection will not be done
& all systems can access server through the gateway machine which has got two lan cards.

If you dont have knowledge of networking then its quite dificult job for you and when you have 30 computers then you can afford one system administrator who can take care of all these kind of jobs
