Your ailment, your internal problems are unique to yourself. No one can tell YOU what is good for you.
Further , medidation is not, simply , a technique. "You do this and this and this will result". No. Meditation is pure internalising. You have to choose the path yourself. some teachers ( we call them Gurus) can help but not all.
But , we have to start somewhere. Please donot go for the quickies. Take it seriously and go whole hog. You can start with a group called "The art of Living Foundation" . The guru is a very reverential person. He combines the art of breathing with the art of meditation. You can look up website and choose the nearest AOL centre. This is not a money making set up.
I donot think technology can help in your breathing except to keep a time piece to see how long you have been meditating.

Whatever is best for you. There is no right way.
I prefer traditional meditation, because I feel like it is more natural and not relying on technology...but that might not be what's right for you.
And a lot of cultures mediated, it didn't originate in India.

Look at www.psipog.com first.
Traditional is better because it teaches you to control your own thoughts and mind, instead of relying and becoming dependant on other things.
Also, many times people can put suggestions within any type of mind software in order to get you to do what they suggest.
Its really not a good idea to trust that stuff.

Focus on your breath in breath out.
Here I don't mean to breath in breath out.
I just mean try to know your natural breath in & breath out.
It's traditional method.
