i dont want anyone answering this question saying you are fine the way you are.Obviously you won't be helping. I was'nt this dark until i got in the 12th grade and ever since all the pictures i take look dumb and i dont like how i look being brown skin so how can i get lighter?

i heard the acid in lemons can help your skin go back to your natural skin color...dont worry this skin color change might be temporary...also you buy a skin lightner (cream) at walmart...its in the aisle where the shampoos, body soap etc are at.

I don't have a definite answer but I do have a couple suggestions. First of all, all beauty issues start from the inside out. Drink water. If you have kidney trouble you will get darker. Water will keep them flushed and you lighter. Besides that if you use the alternative to use skin cream (lighteners and bleaches) your skin will be more susceptible and will be more successful if it is supple and moist. Also exfoliate it sloughs off the top dead and sun damaged layers of skin. Also if you have the extra money to spend you can go to a spa and they offer services such as micro-dermabrasion and oxygenation for skin discoloration issues. People suggest bleaches and lighteners but they have harsh chemicals but they are a quick fix. Good Luck!!

Ummmm I dont think that skin whiteners are for actually lightening the complexion. They're for fading sun spots/age spots, blemish marks etc. I'd be careful.
Grow a backbone geez man.
And don't try lemon juice. Why do people keep suggesting lemon juice for anything from acne to this?! IT IRRITATES SKIN AND DRIES IT OUT DON'T USE IT.

use papaya soaps, apply whitening lotions with spf., wear sunblock daily, apply whitening night creams or lotions. there are pills that give you whiter complexion, too! but that should be one of your last options, though..
