you can install a net-nanny program to prevent her from visiting sites you dont want her to see.

the best though is to get a router, and through the router, you can put the URL's and IP's of sites you dont want her to access. Make surey ou follow you routers instructions to establish a pssword so she has no access to it.

to see where she's been, she may be smart enough to clear the history, but you can visit the cache folder of your browser to see what files she has seen. Somtimes those files are saved with time and location (Ie url) of where they came from.

In Internet Explorer 7, Ctrl+H or hit the star on the leftside and navigate to the History tab.

There is an icon on the standard buttons tool bar at the top of the window, and it looks loke a clock with a green arrow going anti clock wise. This will bring up all websites visited!!

If you really want to know everything then
their is a piece of freeware called
freekgbkeylogger-189.exe
This is used by the KGB it logs all keys
pressed (even gets passwords etc)
I got it from a google search.
It has detailed instructions on how to use it.
It remains hidden from those that do not know about it.
You say she is a minor. Its worse than reading her diary.
I suppose you wont use it unless it is to protect her.

You'll find it in "history", actual location of which depends on your ISP. Most ISPs provide something like "Parental Controls" to regulate where she goes, but, as a parent myself, can you not just discuss this with her?
You might find she already knows where not to go, or what not to do, most kids are pretty responsible if given the chance. And if you come down too heavy she'll just go round to a mate and do it from there . . .

If your browser is Firefox or IE, open the browser and scan the top for "history" & click. Also, under "Tools", choose "Options" to set the # of days to keep browsing history stored. If she clears the "history", she's probably doing that for a reason.

It depends which version of internet explorer you are using. Anyway at the top of the screen where there is the toolbar, there is a "history button", press on it. If you are using the new version of internet then go to "Tools", then go to "Toolbars" and click on history. Hope this helps.

Honest to god.

Don't you think your daughter deserves her own privacy ?????????

This kind of thing is why I'm totally against ID cards... people snooping the database and dataprofiling me.

Why don't you ask your daughter ? Don't you trust her ? The information she has been searching and looking at might be personal and private.

And everyone who's answered this question so far in assisting her..... would you like someone snooping through the sites you've been looking at ?

Update: Seeing as the guy is barely literate.... I'm sure he wants to know what her searching interests are. Private imo. Why don't you read her mail and her diary as well whilst your at it.

don't you trust your daughter?, the history icon appears on the homepage of most search engines-google, yahoo etc or on the start button, click search and look for local settings- open and a number of options should be available, history, cookies, temp files etc- this will allow you access to Internet content and sites visited. more to the point add filters or child locks to your pc. sad though that you need to resort to spying or underhanded tactics to check on your daughter- why not just talk to her- it is honest
