Because WWE probably owns the rights to the name 'Christian' so they had to make it Christian Cage.

WWe owned the rights to the name Christian. At one time he had been known as Christian cage and those rights were not owned by the WWe so he went with that for his name.

WWE owns the rights to the name Christian, if it's used for a wrestler as a single name. By adding 'Cage' to it, WWE can no longer take action.

christian original name in the indies before he came to wwe was christian cage , to answer your question wwe owns the name christian and they are currently in a law suit over the name

His birth name is Jay Reso and he was named Christian by the WWE when he was part of The Brood (Gangrel, Edge, Christian). As said previously , WWE owns the trademark name of 'Christian' and he is unable to use it as such in TNA.

Trademark infringement unfortunately, and it does seperate him from his WWE days, and they own the rights to the name.

christian was his name in wwe. and in order to show more difference about him from wwe, they put cage with his name.
