I checked my windows start up folder but there are things that just take it upon themselves to start up every time I reboot my computer.
(Logictec tray, Itune helper, MSmsges, etc.) Is there any way for me to keep that from happening anymore?

In start press RUN
In RUN type in MSCONFIG
click OK.

When the System Configuration Utility window opens, look at the set of tabs across the top of the window. Find the last tab, labeled “Startup”, and click it. This will show you the Startup List, which contains all of the items that start automatically when you boot your computer and Windows begins to load.

Now, you can freely comb through this list and remove programs that don’t necessarily need to load when your computer boots up. When finished, you’ll need to reboot before your changes can take effect.

There are several tools to diagnose your startup applications.

Actually not all the programs aare starting from startup folder in the program menu. There are registry entries and services in your control panel that keep auto start entries.

If you use Windows XP/Windows 2000 or Windows 2003, first you check the services in Administrative tools under Control panel. If you think that some of the mentioned services are set to auto, you can double click and make it disabled if you feel not required. However be careful there are tons of system related services also found in the services icon over there.

Secondly search and download a program called Hijackthis.exe (not a bad tool), and use it with caustion as it requires high technical knowledge. Use the scan button and see the results, if you find those mentioned programs are listed in the results just check those lines and click the fix button.

Have fun.

Click START then RUN then MSCONFIG chose the startup tab
uncheck the things you don't want to start when the PC boots, BUT BE CAREFUL!!! Only delete the things you KNOW you don't need. If you're not sure, don't delete it. The logitech, Itunes, MSN things are all safe to uncheck. If you uncheck the wrong thing it can cause problems. so again be careful.

I use Crap Cleaner ( www.ccleaner.com ), you can control what does and doesn't start up.

You should be able to delete the things oyu don't want to from the Startup Folder, but I did that on my PC and some thigns still start up, even though they are deleted from the startup folder. I'd just get Crap Cleaner, much easier.

Go to Start then Run and type in msconfig and then go to Start Up and you can uncheck anything you don't want to start up when you start your comp.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
