Well, I think what makes the "N" word "powerful" for lack of better words is its historical meaning. The "N" word wasn't just a word back in the slave days, it was a race of people. African slaves were portrayed as mindless, subhuman beings incapable of achieving higher plains of knowledge.

The word "******" means ignorant or without knowledge. Which is why slaves weren't allowed to read or write, in fact it was a crime. I feel that the "N" word does not have power. It is the history of the "n" word that many people of different races and backgrounds take offense to.

For most people there is only about three generations of seperation between them and that era in our history. People pass views and beliefs to their children and so on and those thoughts and stereotypes of blacks are still taught to some people.

Than there are those people who are just plain old ignorant and think by verbally degrading a person their life will be better. So, this is why I think the "N" word, though having no power alone has power in its history.

I hope you enjoyed the read.
