Well humans are creatures that like variety is no doubt about the…. we're certainly one of the few animals that trying to enjoy monogamy. For women but I knew me is important because it brings about support and knowing someone's going to be there many years if she gets pregnant. For guys it's pretty much the opposite direction.

Sex and frustration did not go well together. Certainly marriage can bring on stress and a host of other problems. However a quick fling with the person down the street invites only fun. People cheat because they can… maybe it's an opportunity that just happens to arise.

Now I am someone who wrote a book about the statistics of sexuality. And I can tell you it is difficult to get statistics on something that people hide and deny….but…. Men definitely cheat more….. no question about it. While the housewife has the occasional fling with the young piece of manhood mowing the lawn don't forget you're missing one huge piece of data. Prostitutes. There just aren't a whole lot of male prostitutes that are servicing women if anything are servicing men. Women prostitutes stay extremely busy especially overseas where countries like Thailand have 500,000 registered female prostitutes. Even in the United States there are 33 legal brothels …. yes you heard me right legal. Are there any brothels for women??? I've never heard of one.

Just by prostitution alone men are cheating a whole lot more then women. Without prostitution may be the odds are a little more even. But any time you can go out to Nevada pay for girl in five minutes and be sleeping with her in 10….. pretty easy to cheat

So while we can't get direct statistics these are certainly indirect ones that clearly show who's the bigger cheater

Treefrog, sorry youre so called psych friend isn't totally right. There's multitude of reasons someone cheats. Some do it for the "thrill" some do it for resentment, some cause their wives are now 300lbs, some cause their guy has no more hair, (thanks to her) some cheat because there not in love anymore, some cheat cause they need to get it out of their system, some cheat for greed, meaning moving up in a job, etc etc etc. Different people have different reasons. They always think the grass if greener yet it is usually browner.

statistics!!!!! I would say 99%. Then you have people that get kicked constantly. This is the new world. Very few honor their vows. If you do somehow it seems like you're treated worse. I think that if I give you the respect to be faithful then you should respect me in the same way. The Golden rule. Who lives by it now?

Actually, I know the answer to this one!

According to a close friend of mine, who is also a psychologist with his Ph.d.......spouses cheat on each other because of underlying anger. One is extremely angry with the other and chooses this direction to deal with it.

No stats. I ask that question. I sometimes think it is their way of escaping working on the relationship they are in. If they dont get caught then they have an outlet and if they do then they have their reason for leaving the relationship.
