Every since I had my daughter my period has been a little weird, but every time I ask a doctor he tells me I just have to get use to my birth control. Well my period is coming out brown with a pinkish tint to it. And I cramped more the usually when it started. I am asking because I have no other option. It's also light and sometimes has small mucus looking clomps in it..Please someone be able to answer.

Brown is not unusual at all. Something like green or purple would be a problem, but not brown. It all depends on the usual color of your blood - if you consume plenty of iron and minerals, you may be more likely to menstruate red.

But I've never been pregnant and I often get brownish-red periods as well. I wouldn't worry about it. Do take your birth control pills regularly. I remember my mom telling me she had horrible periods after pregnancy ... it does disrupt your system, I'll tell you that.

My fiance had a very similar problem, and after many tests it turned out she has Endometriosis. It's pretty common, and has lots of symptoms. It's also possible that the BC you're taking has the wrong levels of estrogen for your body, so switching may take care of the problem.

That's kind of how my period was too after I had my son. Doc said it's was going to be different for awhile. I also had these big clots come out- sorry that was gross, but yes, things definately change after you have a baby- it will go back to normal! :)

I don't know if any of that is normal or what, but I'm a firm believer in if your doctor can't take the time to address a concerned patient fully...FIND A NEW DOCTOR!!!!

Normal. It will take a few months to get back to how it used to be.
