18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written:
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."[c]
I Corinthians 1:18-19
4As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him— 5you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6For in Scripture it says:
"See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame."[a] 7Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
"The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone,[b]"[c] 8and,
"A stone that causes men to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall."[d] They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.
I Peter 2:1-8

The minority of people who don't believe in ANY religion seem to get so upset by this and feel that we're forcing our beliefs on them when I feel it's the other way around. We don't get irritated at them for NOT celebrating so why can they get angry at us for celebrating? I think it's because they are subconsiously jealous that they have no real reason for living. It must be a very sad life to feel that life has no meaning and when you die you will cease to exist. It must slowly eat them up inside and create a heartless person that feels the need to "rain on our parade". It's like the bully in elementary school who is mean to others because his home life is unsatisfying. I agree with you, Christmas is a beautiful happy time of year when people really try to focus on the good in life. It's not just Christmas that some people are "offened" by...it's everything that's religion related.

It does not make experience does it? it relatively is the undertaking with the trinity doctrine! God can't lie so whilst Jesus reported this it did no longer mean that God relatively had forsaken him, it replaced into through fact the discomfort replaced into occurring for thus long and he needed alleviation Titus a million:2 - "upon the inspiration of a wish of the eternal existence which God, who can't lie, promised in the past circumstances durable" Re: different responses...eleven so as through fact of this God we could an operation of errors pass to them, that they might get to believing the lie (New international Translation) It does not propose God synthetic the lie, he permit the lie pass to them (implying that the lie did no longer originate with Him).,..there's a distinction. additionally, God didnt lie whilst he instructed Adam & Eve that they might die...they did. I mean, they don't seem to be alive at present are they? people have been designed to stay perpetually in the international so whilst God reported they might die he meant that the eternal existence they might have enjoyed might quit.

FIRST THINGS FIRST:
To "Jak", the Gal Above me:
Ask youself this:
If they have a different views than you, does your God want you to turn the other cheek, or go in the offensive and try to "freeze their operations"?
Jesus is the Reason, huh?
Well, your response is the exact reason a guy like me hates Christianity.
Why do you only follow your God's rules when it suits you?
I thought he taught Love and Peace and Tolerance?
You may need a refresher course.

OK-
I can only speak for myself, but the negatives for me are
#1 - The commercialist aspect to the holiday. It has been hijacked from it's original meaning and now is just a consumer holiday that helps drive the economy.
#2 - The religious aspect of it. I was raised a Christian, but am not a believer. I am offended by the thrusting upon the rest of society the belief that Christmas is a harmless holy day.
Rather, it is used as a prosthelization tool and thrust into the faces of others who may not agree with or believe in such views. The holiday has been hijacked by the religious themselves and the true meaning has been thoroughly diluted.
I'm amazed by the lack of living the teachings of the bible and instead pursuing avenues of greed and power for the benefit of their own religions.
(ie: political agendas to keep Christianity a conservative force in america to forward and force their views on the rest of teh public- for example The "Under God" addition to the Pledge of allegiance, The Altar Boy scandal that the church tried to and continues to ignore and cover up, etc. )
I can't remember Jews or Muslims or Protestants or Buddhists thrusting their holidays on everyone else.
In fact, I find Christians often have a "holier than thou" attitude in regard to other religions.
The bigger backlash against Christianity may have to do with the US having such a Supposedly Religious and Pious President, when in reality he is responsible for Thousands of innocent civilians being killed, not to mention our soldiers and other countries' as well.
He uses God like a weapon, and his "you are either with us or against us" comment was interpreted by many as being a religious comment rather than purely a "terrorist" comment.
His God sure values Oil more than human life.
I guess Jesus didn't have an exit strategy, though.
Personally, I fear anyone who believes in anything that they cannot prove exists.
I'd just as soon vote for someone who admitted they believed in Bigfoot or The Flying Spaghetti monster.
And in the end, the funny part is that I neither believe in Santa or Jesus, as they both are works of fiction.
Hope this one man's view helps.
Festivus for the rest of us!

Christmas was offensive to the first English Puritans at Plymouth rock. That is why they left England. God is on all US currency. and Christmas is a commercial holiday.

How would you like it if the country you lived in said that you had religious freedom and no one could interfere with that, but you kept seeing and hearing things about a religion you didn't worship (and also damned you) all the time?
Youd get kinda irritated too.
Its time for christianity to lose its crown, its had it time to shine, but look around you, numbers are falling, respect for mankind and love for humans is outweighing blind faith for deities.
