Transportation charges are the charges for transporting the goods from one place to other place. Fright charges are the charges you have paid to carriers when you receive the goods from others. But both are same and they are expenses..

Freight is the rent you pay to the transporters for using their space during the transit. It is based on the dimension or cubic capacity of the matrial transported. Before and during and till delivery the freight is applicable and thereafter if the delivery is not taken, demurrage is charged (Wharfage is for using the Wharf - same as demurrage). But transportation is the cost towards the driver's expense and the fuel cost only. Then another term is there 'insurance'. Today's commercial approach is charging a rate for the 'RAW RICE' and another charge for the 'Vegetable curry or Achar' the thus the total is higher than earlier

Both are the same, only different words.
It's the cost of transporting your goods from one city to another. The cost of transporting the goods within the city to the carriers' place is called FORWARDING.
In many bills you'll come across the term Forwarding & Freight, which is the cost of auto/tempo charges + the freight charges.
