I know that the implantation can start anywhere from 5-12 days past ovulataion, but how long does ittake for the egg or whatever it's called to burrow inside the lining? Is it like a 2 or 3 day thing or a matter of a few minutes.

I was having what I thought might be implantation cramping on 6 dpo and a little on 7 dpo. Thanks for your help! Any site sources would be appreciated too!

It takes a few days for implantation to be completed.

I had implantation cramping (it was more like a few moments of pinching) on 5 & 6 DPO followed by brownish/pink spotting/discharge on 9 DPO. I had a positive test at 12 DPO.

Implantation is complete when the embryo starts pumping out Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) hormone which is detectable by a home pregnancy test.
