No, I don't think he really can. He still has about 2 more years left on his contract with Miami. So he'll probably retire in the 08-09 or 09-10 season. I would just say enjoy Shaq while you can because he doesn't have much more time left.

Shaq may be encouraged to retire but the Shaquille will keep playing until he gets a career ending injury we all know he will go out with his boots on, if u no what i mean.

don't think he will retire after this season, he has a big contract, why not take the money and sit on the bench, it's easy money
