how can I get Tom Waits to contact me to write music together and form a new band?

Trying to form a band here in Los Angeles to play the blues and bring back the roots of good music with Toms help at the piano if I can get his attention.

tom waits is tom waits. he's already here. be yourself. you can get tons of guys with lots of talent to write songs with you that aren't tom waits. good luck! actually check out a good band from detroit you might like called Blanche.... rootsy, alt country. in the meantime, smoke a few packs a day, drink some whiskey, grow a soul patch and get a cool fedora.

People in LA are linked to other people and so on. If your band is really tuned into Tom's groove, get the word out. Best way I see that happening is to be real public, real popular: bust azz to draw in the big crowds. Get some media/PR attention, too. But do it Tom's way.

Somehow along this journey, you just might even meet Waits.

But it's like this: you gotta work hard to reach up to him....pay the dues and do the blues. If your band is good enough, Tom Waits will hear about you and who knows from there.
