Lawyers, doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, project managers (in and outside IT), IT security work, very good mortgage salesmen, engineers, seismic analysts, investment bankers...just to name a few.

The larger question is, what does that money get you? People who truely get the best of money keep using it to learn and improve more about the world (often in philanthropic work) rather than simply splurge and show off their wealth. Look at Donald Trump; the guy is anything but happy and his money ultimately does not earn him honest respect from virtually anyone (including women).

On the other hand take for example, Richard Bransen of Virgin Media, who created a record label to change music then, when he found the music industry going corrupt, started an airline to solve the annoyances he found about flying then, when he found energy problems as an issue, started a multi-billion dollar anti-global warming research initiative and, on the side, is starting a space tourism industry feeling government (for example, NASA) is being too lazy about what people really want to do with the technology IE see space themselves. Instead of buying a ton of cars and trying to impress his women, he does things like fly his entire family to his home for every holiday...virtually everything he does has personal and hobby significance along with business smarts.

Even if you have $40,000 income (the average American salary, roughly) if you own a simple portable house and pay $15000 for the house and under $2500 for utilities and real-estate tax plus another $5000 for expenses like gas, food, cars/repair, and insurance you have about $27,500 to spend supporting existing hobbies and developing new ones (most likely not on the same scale as Richard B., but you get the idea).

Decent? That is more than decent; you are pretty much hitting the jack-pot with that salary. That salary boosts you up to an upper class man or woman.

The only job that I can think of is a Pharmacist... which is the main reason why I am becoming one.

keep in mind the average salary of an American whether or not they live in Los Angeles (or NY) is 45K a year. That is double their salary.

And registered nurses do not make 100K a year. Starting salary for a registered nurse is up to 40k-60k, no where near 100K and the same goes for an Accountant... they make up to 60K a year.. And I live in California which is pretty pricey and my mother makes 50K and we are not in "poverty". I am just your average middle class American.

It depends on where you live. But $100,000 dollars is nothing these days.
registered nurses, accountants, would probably earn that amount of money.

it really depends on what area of the country you live in, I lived in Cleveland where that would be very good, but now living in Los Angeles thats barely enough to get by comfortably.

$100,000 is a great amount to make in a year. Most people working normal jobs, ei: retail, janitorial..., earn $15,000 the most.
