you need to download Cingular Connection Manager software from cingular.com. plug your phone in, load up the software and hit connect. That phone supports EDGE network, so you will connect at about double dial-up speed in most places, or betwen 60 and 100 kbps.
That's the easy part. The tough part comes when the bill arrives.
If you plan to connect this way, and I can't stress this enough, make sure you call Cingular and get the "laptop connect" plan. It will raise your cell phone bill $60 a month for unlimited service. Not doing this will get you a HUGE surprise next month in the mail box. A 4 figure cell phone bill! "but I have the unlimted data plan on my phone" you might say, doesn't matter! that's for your phone, not a computer. Your phone may use 10 megs in a month, that's for a heavy user, a computer will transfer that much data in 10 minutes. They will notice the huge increase and bill you for it.

Only some phones work with this; check your manual or download the manual for your specific phone for this. You also have to have an Internet or Data plan with your cellular provider. This comes separately from voice (normally calling) services.
