I have a broken laptop that has a good monitor. i was wondering if and how can i modify it to work with my desktop?

The answer is you can't, the interface design is a job for computer engineer, not a hobbyist.

Best bet it to auction off the laptop on ebay, and buy a nice desktop monitor for yourself.

If you get a couple hundred for the damaged laptop, you could buy a entry level 19" LCD panel.

you will have to take it to a TFT screen technician who canadd the cards required and make it workon a desktop.

you should buy some card which can be connected to the PC and tft screen
