That depends on what e-mail service you are using, and if your account is configured to always remember your username and password so that you don't have to log in twice. Sometimes web-based e-mail services also leave a temporary copy of each screen you viewed stored on the computer; if your boss is very savvy, he could retrieve these files. Of course, he would have to know you were using it in the first place.

No worries when you shut down everything is gone. Also when you close a window it is the same result as if you had logged out, If you immediately returned there might be a cookie that would have been set, but most will still ask for a password.

well if you turned the computer off there shouldnt be anything there for him to see. if you just turned the monitor off, he might be able to access your email immediately depending on the time out settings on your account. .. if the mail account uses Outlook or some other application rather than a web based email like yahoo/msn/gmail etc then it would likely keep the connection alive.
for the most part you are safe from him doing too much ...

I have done that many times in yahoo mail. After i did that i open another window and my email was not there. i had to login again. But i think it depends on the computer. Try on your computer and see if works.

It depends on how you have your e-mail settings set.... mine is set to remember my id, but not the password, so I have to enter the password each time. If you didn't specifically set it to automatically log you on, you should be fine. (He MIGHT know that you were using the computer though)...

generally email will default if no options or keys/mouse are detected in use for 2-5 hours, therefore your last page left on screen will be there but to further on, it will go to need a password or maybe completely need you to log in again to activate.

If you have turned off the computer, everything is fine. When he reopens that account he will be asked for the password. So you don't have to worry.

Yes. When the browser is closed (internet explorer) or windows is shut down, it automatically logs off everything.

I guess it depends on how the computer is set up and perhaps whether net is still connected. Hopefully you have your stuff set up where it requires a password each time!
