There were many fond memories this year, its hard to pick just one really. There was this one park where I jog at and my girlfriend and I had been on again off again because her family did not want her to see me. It had been some time since I had seen her and spoken to her in awhile. I had seen her up at the park a couple of days before and she was back up there again and this time I decided to go say hello. It had started raining really good not to long after I had got to the park. I went up to her car and we talked for a little while, then she had to go. I was hopeful she wanted to get back with me but she was maintaining some distance in the conversation. It ended well and friendly and she drove away. So I went back through the park on my normal trail and as I came back through I noticed her car was back and in a different spot near the restrooms. I started to go back through and it was pouring down rain at this point. I heard someone yell my name out and when I turned she was running up to me. Her hair is really long and she was drenched so it had curled up on her, she had this big old smile on her face. Apparently she had chased after me so I could stand guard for her at the restrooms but couldn't find me earlier. We walked over to this gazebo to get out of the rain for a bit and she was flipping her hair out into the rain and messing with it. I remember it so well she had on a yellow and purple pull over jacket, she had mentioned being cold and I gave her a hug offering to help keep her warm. We always did just fit so perfectly when we would hold each other. That smile of hers and her wet hair, looking back she knew what she was doing. She was so unbelievably beautiful smiling at me in the rain. Some kids ran by from the basketball courts yelling get a room and telling us a tornado warning was out. After they passed us I went to release her from the hug and she didn't let go. She had this look in her eyes and we kissed. I never thought I would see her again let alone get to hold her or kiss her. As we kissed it started to hail and we debated over waiting it out or not, which we had to by the time it all got to frozen ice balls. It was kind of like God wanted to keep us there under that gazebo for awhile. I have never held someone so close and so tight in my entire life, I never wanted to let go either we talked and kissed and I do not think she escaped me holding on to her for more than a few seconds here and there. It was so chilly out from being so drenched but it all just faded away with the kisses and the warmth of her body against mine. I fell in love with her over and over again through out this past year that was just one of the times. Now every time it rains, and every time I go to the same park and run I keep waiting to hear someone calling my name through the storm. Sometimes I will be thinking of her while running and think I hear her voice through the thunder and rain drops but it is always my imagination, and those memories coming back to haunt me. Maybe someday I will get to just wrap my arms around her and hold her again with no worries that I will ever have to let her go again. Until then I just keep waiting for that someday to come and missing her as I run through the rain.
