it was a great book - if remembered that it is FICTION. Dan Brown is a very talented author. there is such a huge debate on how 'horrible' of a book it is, because so many people are taking it for fact, but there's a reson it's filed in the fiction area of the library or book store. If you are wanting to read it, it is definately worth the time, because it gets you thinking, you have to have an open mind.... Just keep in mind, that most of it is pure fiction.

There are a few books that have come out since then, regarding the facts of the book, and one is called "unlocking the da vinci code", and the other is "The DaVinci Codebreaker", both by the same authors. they explain the facts and false ideas througout both. I'd recommend reading those if you're a little uneasy about what you'd read in the DaVinci Code.

Overall, it's very worth the time reading it, and personally, it is one of my favorite books. I've read it twice.

If you read it and like the style of Dan Brown's books, read his others too, "Angels and Demons" is great, and so is "Deception Point".

Crap, lies, faulty pretension of culture and history knowledge, hoping to persuade people to believe that 21 centuries of Christian beliefs mean nothing, and what proof??? A painting, based in the opinion of a simple man (Leonardo Da Vinci) and several documents whose existence is doubtful or misplaced to this issue, and gnostic Evangelia (even more inaccurate than The Da Vinci Code itself).

The only positive thing about the book is that is an excellent thriller, 'cause it keeps you in tension till the end. Oh and speaking of the end, it even subtracts more credibility to the plot that Brown wanna make believe it has veracity, because that thing that Sophie was a descendant of Jesus, God, that made me laugh for hours, it was so pathetic and nonsense.
.
And for adding more stupidity, the movie based on the book is even more stupid and lame.

Merry Xmas

i loved the davinci code. i thought it was well written. do i think it is factual? i have no idea. i think it is an interesting theory that a woman could be the holy grail and i definitely believe the parts about womens roles in the church and how they have been somewhat supressed. i was actually thinking of re reading the book just today. maybe i will start on it tomorrow.

i thought the guy that wrote that book must have been extremely educated(or incredibly imaginative) because i couldnt keep up with all the symbols he was throwing in. But to be honest, i think all the events that happened in the book had to happen by chance. they couldnt possibly solve all those clues withing a couple of days under all that strain.

it was a good fiction though.

A well written fictional thriller that causes one to explore out of the box so to speak when it comes to the teachings of modern Christianity. A nice companion to the book entitled "Angels and Deamons" by the same author.

I had high expectations about that book and was disappointed. It's good, but not as good as I expected it to be. The movie I only watched the first 30 minutes...
