Why can't i enter the Petalburg Gym on Pokemon Perla version?!?

The door just wont open and there's not any message. I'm so confused. It's the game or is it just the cassette?!

wow now they r on Pokemon Perla, last time i check, it was still yellow

The problem would likely be the game since Pokemon Perla is a pirated game.

Wow they have Perla?!?!?!?! Well anyway wat that guy said. Also to some ppl pokemon is really old now
