In today's US and UK society someone who would call themselves a Liberal would generally be a Democrat. Republicans mostly refer to themselves as Conservatives. Neither title really fits anymore though. Wikipedia has a decent article on the types (old and new) of liberalism with links to "Liberal" views of today.

Nowadays, they would be a Democrat or a Green (or worse). The conservative movement that the Republicans embody (not perfectly mind you) is far from dead, so hold off on any gloom and doom predictions of the "demise of the Republican party". If I recall, there were similar predictions of the Democrat's demise a few years ago after they lost the 2004 elections.

Once upon a time, there were liberal Republicans. Today, even moderate Republicans are an endangered species. At the rate they're going, only the nut-case Republicans will be left. With W's declining popularity, the Republicans may cease to exist as a major party.

Neither of the two events choose often happening electorate to have the potential to verify what's quite occurring in Washington on a on a regular basis foundation. they are quite one and the comparable entity. taking part in one celebration's activity communities against the different to maintain people the two arguing with one yet another or to provide up irritating approximately politics and locate something else to do.it quite is why we've had the technologies to place up issues on the internet for citizen overview for 10 years and nonetheless won't do it. Even the ill-named on a regular basis Congressional record is undertaking to arbitrary and self-serving adjustments via any member of Congress at any time. as long through fact the final public of electorate pay greater interest to what's up in Hollywood and ESPN than to how they are getting screwed via vast company and Washington, no longer something will ever exchange.
