I have been on ortho novum 1/35 for 10 months and not missed a pill, but I think that I might be pregnant because of my symptoms. This will be my second baby so I know what pregnancy symptoms are.

I was wondering if anyone else has?

I have a sister that got pregnant while on the pill... the doctor said, some times other medicines and vitamins can mess the pill up.

Yes, in my family 3 of the 4 girls got pregnant on the pill. It is not 100%. Make sure you are, because sometimes the body can do weird things. Wait and if you miss your period do a home pregnancy test.

My best friend got pregnant whilst on the pill. AS someone mentioned, it can be a case of taking another medication in conjunction with the pill which may have interfered. Medicines such as St Johns Wort is a known one.

My niece was conceived on the pill. My sister-in-law always took her pill at the same time every day but she still got pregnant. She thinks it may be because she had the flu and was throwing up for a few days so she thinks she probably threw up the pill.

Not personally, but it did happen to a friend of mine.

It turns out that some medications reduce the effectiveness of the pill...such as prescription antiobotics. I never knew that. But I've also seen that on pharmacy warning labels ("caution...taking this medication may reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills...be sure to use alternatative methods while on this medication")

yes, the pill is only 99.9% effective. this takes into account the 56% of pregnancys which occur and never implant. contraceptives, altough lowering the risk, can never be 100% effective. pillbabys are born every day.

some things that effect your pills effectivness. (in no particular order)
grapefruit
vitamins
dietary supplements
anti biotics

Yes, BOTH of my pregnancies were while I was on the pill...took it every day at the same time every day. In case your doctor didn't tell you, the pill is NOT 100% effective...

I was faithfully taking Ortho Tri Cyclin when I got pregnant with my youngest son. They aren't 100% effective. Hope that things go well for you and good luck!!!!

I did! I was taking the pill when I became pregnant with my daughter Melody, I was taking it every day at the same time every day. No regrets though =D, she is the best thing in my life.
