First, I think it's funny.

In my opinion, striving to be as equal as men is not as ambitious as striving to be equal to your own potential.

Edit:
That chick above me is why women do not have equality to men. Don't give up. Their hasn't been a women's equality movement in decades. I'm ready for a revolution...who's with me?

It means just what it says. If you stop at equality then you stop progress. If you were running a race side-by-side, why make it a tie? You should run a little faster to get the blue ribbon. Especially since that person beside you is not going to settle for a tie themselves.

At the same time I find this quote to be discriminating. It's saying that women should put themselves above men. I don't like it.

I believe in equality. Not in one-upping anyone. Yes a race is a competition, but the ability of having a good quality of life is not! Equality is having the same rights, liberties and freedoms in order to strive at being the best in what you do. It's not about being given MORE simply because of your sex.

Hah, it means that women are just better than men, and so should strive to reach their personal potential and not just try to reach the best of the men around them.

This quote is horribly sexist, by the way. It's just as horrible to say women are inherently better than men as it is to say that men are inherently better than women. But maybe pointing that out was your design in posting this here...?

Such women look at men as the prime limit thats the sky.Hence have set their bar ,level of exellence with regard to men which is wrong.
Just because a man can score 80 dont mean you cant aim for 100.Now a woman aiming at 100 is ambitious

Striving to be equal to men is not being ambitious enough. You should always want to be the best, not just as good as.

it means an ambitious woman would strive to be better....not equal

equality will never be achieved, women no matter how they try to prove it they will always be lower than men. it doesn't matter how many civil rights movements there will be for women or minorities in america, equality will NEVER be reached. the only thing we have going for us is succeed in what we do without looking at the men for comparison.
