You can learn a programming language pretty quickly, but mastering it takes a very long time. If you have no experience with programming, I recommend Visual Basic, or if you want to do some web programming, PHP... personally I hate it but many beginners seem to like it.

Try one of these:
Teach Yourself PHP in 10 Minutes:

Teach Yourself Visual Basic 6 in 10 Minutes:

Teach Yourself C++ in 10 Minutes:

Again, you will not walk away from these books able to get a programming job, but they are an excellent stepping stone and you will have "learned" a programming language.

if you have little to no understanding of what the previous replies are talking about then learning a programming language quick is out of the question. It'll probably take you like 15 minutes just to figure out how to print out "hello world" on the monitor.

You can get those "Learn X in 24 days" but that's not going to make you an expert.

Do you have any programming background at all?

Just get a book and read it. Do all the practice programs, etc... you won't be good at programming, but you should be able to get by in a few weeks. ...and by "get by" I mean the very basics. If you're looking to make a Windows type program with buttons and stuff, learn Visual Basic.

Familiarize yourself with the rules for scripting in the language (analogous to grammar) and then learn the particular terms (analogous to words), in fact that is much the way to learn a foreign language too.

Half-assed coding results in half-assed programs... And the world has plenty of half-assed programs. Kindly refrain from adding to the dung pile and choose a different hobby.
