deep round hum sound/tone, but really want the best in terms of hp and high end ability or power boost. (when vtec kicks in) also, very important to me is that it allow for short shifter without scratching on the top of the exhaust. (my current on even tho an aftermarket catback, gets scratch almost constantly by my shortshifter.... :(
thanks 4 help

i would go with comptech. i got 2005 TL with few mod, and i got comptech. its got low tone and not like these cheap exhaust that just make loud noise. and you might want think about putting header and intake(Ice Box). check this website they show Dyno Charts for 2000 Civic Si with all that parts.

When it comes to aftermarket parts for a Honda, Mitsubishi, Subaru. You can never go wrong with HKS.

Two other really good companies are Greddy and Trust.

You could buy a muffler with a silencer on it... that way you always have a more quiter muffler, but when you want the absolute best performance, pop out a screw, pull out the silencer and you have straight pipes.... thats what I got... even a cheap ebay one... hah

Good ol' Greddy SP2...it'll follow your stock exhuast and is probably about as tame as you'll get with a straight through design. Pricey, but you pay for what you get.

Good luck.
