Your heart is betraying you.

It won't sit still.
The glass wall around it
Locks in another brick of each passing moment's silence.
What was built to protect
Has grown to suffocating its captor.

Your heart can see the light outside
And it wants out.

The cracks in the wall
Are beginning to show
And all the king's men
Cannot repair the damage
Faster than your heart's beating hammer.

When the wall comes down,
Your heart will lie bare,
Tired from fighting to feel again.

Could you let the released silence
Reach through the rubble
And quiet your darkest depths?
Could you reach out again to
Embrace those waves of light
That embraced the now shattered wall?

an engine is green,

no matter
what type,

of fire
you see,

you know you
can trust them,

as they pass
you by,

on their way
to another fire.

Firefighters you see,
are like you and me,

but they will always
be there

when we are
in need.
