Rubbish. You see, it is the vain attempt to give those who do not deserve special rights, the afformentioned rights, that hold's progress back. If he speaks english, why should he be allowed special privlages? If I was running for State Senator what if I wanted cow's to be sacraficed to my god's and to have it read in both Gaelic and ancient Norwegian? It is not going to happen. Therfore, in an obvious conclusion, he should not receive this special right because not all are entiltled to these special rights. This is only open to him because he is a muslim. That is only my opinion however.

He made it quite clear that that would be done in a private ceremony, and the public one would be no different than previous swearings in, which I believe they put their hand on a copy of the American Constitution. Besides, the US allows for religious freedom, one of the Guarantees of their charter of rights, so what difference does it make to anyone which Bible he holds up, as long as he promises to uphold the law. If he is Muslim, it would be wrong to put his hand on any other Holy Book.

Needs to be traditional, I think. Your'e right, this is America and that's how it's always been and should be. But if the Bible doesn't mean anything to him then how sincere would he be? It's a quandry......
