If you are willing to put energy into the principle of this website that is to help outers with their questions, If you put out the effort you show that you wish to really participate not just ask questions of others. Without people answering this would not work. It costs 2 points to ask a question, you gain 2 points for answering one and 10 points if you are voted as best answer.

Getting best answer usually Means you really took the time to think out and provide a quality answer. Yes it is a bonus for giving a great answer (in most cases). After level 2 the doors open up. If you really want to yes you can answer a lot of questions and help a lot of people and you rack up points. I do not know how good the answers are of the biggest point holders, they may just be answering yes or no every time.

After hitting level 2 I can vote on the quality of an answer or question. But I guess if your into helping the points no longer mean anything at least not to me, well maybe a little I guess. I like getting best answer especially if I really think I helped someone change their life with my input.

But that is what giving is all about I get more back than I really gave.

Peace and happy holidays.

I have fifteen billion points so I can ask a billion questions after I reach the top. That's the point of this website: Ask and answer. It's a bit like money exchange, really.

Yes but you have limited answering when you are only at 1, 2, 3 and 4. When you get past those, you can stay on all day if you want and never have a limit. You can pretty much do what you want at that point and never have a stupid little box telling you that you cant answer anymore questions until tomorrow. Y!A is addicting, admit it, you cant stop, lol. I know I cant!

I have no idea. I'm just trying to get to level 5 so I can ask/answer unlimited questions. I couldn't care less about the points.

I heard that it was for bragging. Until Yahoo! Answers have contests for high levelers, that's the only reason why I'm on here, to speak to people and win free stuff.

you're still limited as to how many answers/votes/questions you can do per day. A lot of people (self included) are on here enough it's annoying to be out of answers and still a lot of day left.
