anticlimactic? New Years always seems to be a great celebration until midnight and then it's like "What now?" Has anybody else experienced that?

Yes! I'm so glad someone else feels the same way! I'm usually a really social person, but I prefer to stay in on new year's or go to a friend's house with a very small gathering of people. I hope you do have a happy new year, no matter how you choose to spend it.

I feel the same exact way. The same thing goes for Christmas this year. Since I'm getting older and I'm not a little kid anymore (I'm 17), I don't get as excited about opening gifts or driving around looking at all of the decorations. It's more about spending time w/ family and celebrating Christ's birth. So I guess for New Year's it's just about being grateful for another year. But after all of the holiday woo-hoo it's very back to normal. I think a lot of people feel that way.

Yeah, that's actually a very valid point. When I was little, staying up til midnight was a great accomplishment. Nowadays, staying up past 12 is no big deal and it's a shame the festivities have to end at a set time. Luckily for me, the hangover usually kicks in soon after so I don't have to deal with anything like that until January 2nd.

Thats why I stay home now :) Really! When I was younger and used to stay out dancing and partying I felt the same way. After the count down, big let down. My wife and I watch the cereamonies then toast some Champaine and thats about it. Its better to stay indoors also with all the pyscho's shooting there guns. Better to lay flat on the floor under 1 inch thick metal sheets, LOL!

Good Luck and Merry Christmas!

Yes indeed. There's this whole month or more of holiday holiday holiday holiday holiday... and then it's over at midnight. And now you have to go to work and realize that unless you're government or your boss has a social conscience, you won't have a day off before Memorial Day!

Nope, I throw a dance every year with friends and it's nothing but good memories afterwards...glad it's over by the time it is...just wish we had a week to recover afterwards...LOL

But it can be anticlimatic if you are young and want the party to last forever...believe me...you look forward to it ending when you get older....LOL

Yes, but more when I was younger and eager for the excitement to keep its momentum. Now I'm more laid back since I am a parent and older

Kind of. Unless you accidentaly took a swig of rum that you thought was root beer. Then the party keeps going.
