Absolutely good news. Glenn McGrath adds so much to the Australian side. Just being able to bring him on and tie up an end is so beneficial for the Aussies.
Would be sad to lose two icons in the space of a week. Love of hate Shane Warne, he sure was an entertainer. So is Glenn McGrath. Go pidgeon, I say.

If he is not retiring, it is good for the Australian Team. I still feel that he may retire after the current Ashes series to bid good bye when he is in his element. While he still a good bowler, he is no more the same dangerous bowler which he was few years back.

I am glad he will see out the world cup at least, but we really dont have too much to worry about - there are plenty of young good fast bowlers coming up atm. We have a ready made McGrath-alike in Stuart Clark, and then when fit, we have Shaun Tait and Shane Watson, plus Mitchell Johnson who can all bowl over 150km, and of course Brett Lee is still going to be around for another 4 years or so.
This is my Australian team of 2008:
1.Jacques (NSW)
2.Paine (TAS)
3.Ponting (TAS)*
4.Hussey (WA)
5.Clarke (NSW)
6.Watson (QLD)
7.Haddin (NSW)+
8.McNamara (NSW)
9.Lee (NSW)
10.Johnson (QLD)
11.Clark (NSW)
12.Tait(SA)

Yes. He wants to retire and also have some limelight on him. Currently all the limelight is on Warny.
I think it is very hard to retire after being in the game that long. You make decisions and always will regret the retiring one. I think he wants to give it one more shot.
The best of luck to him.

All Australian newspapers disguise cricket and covers cricket suitable if Australia wins. Now whilst India stops the so-noted as international Champions from keeping a prevailing streak. as quickly as upon a time whilst they saved prevailing tournament after tournament, they used to assert that the suitable of their gamers have been waiting interior the wings to take over whilst the admired ones interior the team fail to accomplish and that their expertise abounded. And, now you notice the vacancy of those claims. do you elect all their newspapers admit to boasting nature of their cricketers and their skippers?

It is, for the time being, he has indicated he wants to retire at the World Cup after their finals win, so, i guess the selectors can groom a replacement
